Man charged with impaired
After receiving a tip regarding an alleged dangerous driver last Sunday (July 8), Dufferin OPP have charged a 27-year-old Brampton man with several offences.
At about 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a grey BMW driving dangerously on County Road 18. Witnesses reported the luxury car, which was travelling south and passing several vehicles, narrowly avoided a collision with oncoming traffic.
Shortly afterwards, Dufferin OPP stopped the vehicle on County Road 18 near 9th Sideroad in Mulmur. After investigating, police allege the male was driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Amandeep Babra, 27, of Brampton, has been charged on three counts, including impaired operation, exceed 80 mgs and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to answer to the allegations in Orangeville court on July 24.
