Mayor Ford says he will run again if found guilty

Mayor Rob Ford says that if he’s kicked out of city hall, he’ll simply run again.
“If the judge says I can run again and I lose my job, I guarantee I’ll just say, ‘When’s the next election?’ cause I’ll be running for mayor. The next day I’ll start campaigning again for sure,” said Ford.
But Ford said there’s still a possibility that he’ll be banned from politics for up to seven years.
“That’s worst case scenario,” he said. “I actually believe I have done nothing wrong.”
A lawsuit accuses Ford of breaking provincial law in February by speaking and voting on whether he should have to pay back $3,150 in donations to his football foundation from lobbyists and a corporation. The case goes to court on Sept. 5.
Ford was interviewed at noon by CP24’s Stephen LeDrew. The talk centred around subways, Ford’s Chicago trip and the possibility of losing his seat in City Hall.
LeDrew added that if Ford is found not guilty, it’ll probably help his popularity.
“Every time the elites or the Toronto Star or someone else takes shots at you, your popularity goes up,” LeDrew said.
LeDrew mentioned that a woman from Scarborough recently told him she bumped into Ford in a corn maze in Niagara Falls. Ford allegedly stopped to ask the woman about the Danzig shooting.
“You’ll probably get 1,000 votes out of that,” said LeDrew.
“I’m doing what I’ve always done. I return people’s phone calls,” responded Ford.
