Peel Village Golf Course opens today (April 5), just in time for the long weekend, and it will be cheaper to golf this year.
Rates have decreased for 2012 at the city-owned, nine-hole course located in the area of Steeles Avenue East and Kennedy Road. Seniors’ hours have also been extended.
Throughout the summer, Peel Village Golf Course hosts Junior Tour a weekly program every Tuesday for youth aged eight to 13 years. The program includes a round of golf with course professionals, lunch, and an awards presentation at the end of each day. Pre-registration at the golf course is a must.
Golf lessons are available through the City of Brampton and dates, times and locations are listed in the 2012 Spring & Summer Recreation Guide and on the city’s website at www.brampton.ca.
The course also offers private lessons, which can be booked with golf pro Trevor Killam (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The course has a dress code: khaki pants, shorts, golf shoes, running shoes, golf shirt or jacket. No jeans are allowed. Men’s tank tops, T-shirts, sandals and flipflops are also prohibited.
The course is expected to remain open until mid-November, weather permitting.

Peel Village Golf Course is built on a 67-acre flood plain around the Etobicoke Creek. It was the first municipal course to be fully certified under the Audubon Co-operative Sanctuary System in 1998, and it is re-certified every two years.
