MISSISSAUGA – Come out this weekend and support Scouts Canada going to the 23rd World Scout Jamboree scheduled to be held in Hong Kong in July this year.
On Saturday (April 25), scouts will be collecting electronic waste at Meadowvale West Church Center (6945 Meadowvale Town Centre Cir) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The purpose of the collection is to recycle the e-waste and keep it out of landfills where harmful pollutants can escape into the environment.
Electronic items such as computers, televisions, radios, printers, small appliances, stereos, telephone sets, batteries, cables and cords, inkjet cartridges, and empty beer and wine bottles are acceptable.
Funds raised will go to sending scouts to the World Jamboree in Japan.
The Canadian contingent is comprised of Scouts from l’Association des Scouts du Canada as well as Scouts Canada, and will contain Jamboree participants, members of the International Service Team as well as organizers of the Canadian Contingent.
