Ontario MP Rod Phillips resigned as finance minister after he was found to have taken a personal trip to the Caribbean island of St. Barts over the holidays, despite government and public health guidance to stay home. The scandal, and others like it, has put access to paid sick leave in the spotlight, Heather Scoffield writes.
