Some Black teachers in Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga feel safer teaching online

The PDSB says it is aware of issues regarding microaggressions in the workplace and is planning to address the matter through the anti-racism policy that is being drawn up.

Union president Gail Bannister-Clarke says she’s heard from teachers who say that remote learning puts a distance between them and colleagues who have made racist remarks or deny that racism is an issue in the board.
